Beatrice Bernath

 

Multidisciplinary Artist

Beatrice Bernath is a multidisciplinary artist engaged in drawing, painting ,all areas of print,

photography, and  a writer of poems and prose , from the ge of 10 , in the Art school and

college in her home town Brasov in Romania.

At the age of 20 she made the Alia to Israel with her family directly to the Art dep.

At the University of Haifa.

 

Owner of her private work studio in Haifa Bat Galim and former etching and silkscreen
studio, that served for many years as a teaching and private work center.

 

Membership

Board of the Painters and Sculptors Association of Haifa and North Israel.

Formerly served as an assistant teacher at the University of Haifa at The Faculty of

Arts, the Polytechnic  of Haifa the graphic and art department and at Art high schools

in Israel.

 

Education

Graduate of Haifa University Department of Art Creation , Academic Teaching Department,

and Sculpture Academy ,Romania , ION ANDREESCU ART ACADEMY,-CLUJ, ROMANIA.

 

Awards

Receiver of The Critics Award at The first Biennale of Young Artists at the Art Museum
of Haifa, and lots of awards and prices for Art ,in Romania ( the birth country ) and  Israel.

Bernath Beatrice's Art represents a blatant and loud talking , declares its  presence as a social and personal truth, 

not for decoration  value, and was reflected in recent years in  Israel  and galleries overseas, particularly in Berlin,  

as called SOCIAL ART and sometimes  INHOSPITABLE  ART.

 

This Art raises social and personal pain , the right to be different, to love who they want , the urban loneliness and so ,

it is uncomfortable to talk about, but , it turns out , that most artists are tired  to hide important issues and use art to

point them out ,and young people identify with  this  clean direct art ,that speaks for them.

 

The Style of painting - following  Beatrice 's hyperactive character , with expression of immediate need  of fast and powerful 

expression of her opinions, feelings and statements, is intuitive expressionistic, with strong rapid and nervous lines, like a personal handwriting  with contrasting and basic colors.

 

In Oil or acrylic painting, Beatrice does not use any brushes, she is painting with hands .

It's just more direct and quick to paint with hands  and fingers and work directly on the canvas or cardboard or wood.

 

" when the main stream in 21 century" and in particularly the last years in Tel Aviv as the Israeli's trendy art prophet,

the art become more and more "hyper realistic",storytelling , by cerebral planning and high technical skills, I feel the need to

go back to basics, and just purely draw without blink of thinking. my line, my spot is my fingerprint. the models are alive,

moving and breathing, not in capsuled flat images.

 

Quicker they move, shorter the time to draw, the adrenaline and the excitement concentrate me better to find the expression

and the line I feel, to live my personal artistic imprint."
